About Marian

Hi! My name is Marian McLemore, like Maid Marian in Robin Hood, not Maryann off of Gilligan's Island. ;)

I create joyful, whimsical art for the everyday moments people never want to forget.

Collectors tell me my work lives on their walls, shelves and tables year-round, not just during holidays or special occasions. A bookmark with a red bird tucked into a devotional journal, a brightly painted napkin on a dinner table, an ornament that never gets packed away--these artworks become quiet companions in their daily lives. They mark grief and healing, bring color to gatherings and hold the memories of the people they love the most.

My palette is intentionally bright and cheery, because I believe color can shift the atmosphere of a room and heart. I love hearing that my art makes people smile, that it feels "so whimsical you can't help but be happy when you look at it," or that a single piece becomes a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe and savor the simple moments that make life feel full.

Many of my pieces are rooted in nostalgia and faith--red birds that feel like a sign from heaven, ornaments that recall the magic of Christmas, everyday objects that become little beatitudes bringing joy into the home. I'm deeply honored when someone says my work helps them remember the good parts of a complicated relationship, or that a notecard I painted was loved even more than the gift that came with it.

At its heart, my art isn't just about decoration. It's about creating tangible blessings--colorful keepsakes that carry comfort, joy and a sense of being gently held. If my work can make someone pause, feel a little lighter or remember someone they miss with warmth instead of only sorrow, then I know I've painted something worthwhile.
